An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks
I've never had anyone have an issue with dropping files though - can you email bugs@velocraptor.com with a sample file please.

An error occurred while saving the comment Good suggestion Do you have a proposal for how to interface with such dictionaries?

An error occurred while saving the comment I (maybe foolishly) render the PDFs using Cocoa's PDF writing, which doesn't seem to give me any compression options. Ideally I'd like to copy, and then add to the current file where already have a PDF, but I'll have to understand PDFs a bit better first.

An error occurred while saving the comment I think that it is possible (although a bit of a hack), and you're right, it does solve lots of problems.

An error occurred while saving the comment I'm fighting a rear-guard action against complication. Have you tried the Automator action, which would allow you to move the file once it's done.

Too be frank, I’d like to get English working better first, but I’ll look at this then.
An error occurred while saving the comment I'll add a user preference without a GUI to get you going.

An error occurred while saving the comment I think it's got to the stage where the command-line is essential to the testing of the product - so it's likely to stay.
Most of the options that you want can be replicated in script invoking velocraptor.rb, so you'll forgive me if I pass on them. -

I’ve still to get my head around services, but thank you, that would be a nice integration
An error occurred while saving the comment Cool. I'm busy on another project for a while, but I will look into this

An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Our current engine is OCRopus, which does layout analysis and then hands over to Tesseract as its character recognizer. So yes!
I'm hoping to be able to announce big news on the accuracy front soon.

An error occurred while saving the comment To be honest, I was initially naive and thought that people would throw their own scans at VelOCRaptor, rather than complete works!
Consequently I give all the pages to the OCRopus OCR engine at once, and as it does not provide feedback, I have no idea where in the list of pages it is.
I'm planning to revise this so that I hand individual pages to the engine - in this way I can provide progress feedback, and also the ability to cancel but write work so far. I expect this to be the major feature in a 1.1 release, but due to other commitments I can't start work on it for a few days.

Thanks for this Steven. VelOCRaptor is a bit of an experiment – working title turned domain name I suppose. I’ll be really interested to see if other people agree with you.
An error occurred while saving the comment You can vote for this, or for the suggestion to keep our product name
An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for the feedback. Opinions do seem divided on the name, so I'm going to set up a "Keep your product name" option and see which gets more votes.
As for the icon, I know that he could do with some work to fit in with rest of Leopard. I'll get on to it.

An error occurred while saving the comment I have a feeling that this will be a world of parsing pain with people just criticising when we don't get it right :-(
Sorry, but unless it gets a lot of support, I'm going to reject, as when AppleScript is working you can add this yourself.

Thanks for the suggestion.
If you open the app without dropping a file on it – then drop a file, the window will stay open after OCR. You can then select all and use services to read it without saving as PDF.An error occurred while saving the comment
